Lantern easel card

I have always loved easel cards.
And this one is ultra simple to create.
The circle moon is cut with the 2" circle punch and in filled with a square of gold embossed velum.
The frront panel of white and the circles on it are raised on dimensionals and glue dots.
There is a battery operated candle inside the triangle formed by the card.
How easy is this to create?
For the basic card you need half an A4 piece of cardstock cut lengthways and score one half, in half.
Bend it at the score line and pop the candle behind the punched circle.
I love making these cards.
The velum is pre printed, the stamped words all come from one photopolymer stamp set and only minimal colours are used: basic gold, white, black and Mossy meadow.
If you are wanting to order Any of these products you can order through the Stampin' up online shop.

Corner garden, Feel Good.

Stressful day ahead?
Woke up early?
Maybe it's the time of day for a little creativity with colouring... Just Like a morning walk, without the actual exercise.
Today's card is inspired by the weekly specials. 15 % off deals that you can enjoy from Wed to Tuesday!
First, take the large Corner garden background stamp...
Just stamp it on a piece of white cardstock. I've used archival grey ink (in the holiday catalogue).
And start colouring!
The rage this year is adult colouring books.
You could stamp 5 of these and pack a box of pencils and have instant stress relief with you at any time of the day, or night!
I've used a watercolour pen aka an aqua - painter.
You put a small bit of water in the pen handle and dip the brush in the lid of your ink pad and you have hours of colouring pleasure right in your hand.
I've stamped a "feel goods" quote on a punched 2 1/2" circle in Basic grey.
Added a Tea lace doily behind and it's done.
My morning meditation for the day!

These weekly specials are available until Tuesday 3 November.
If you place an order with me by Saturday 31st I will enclose a sparkly gift to say Thankyou for helping make my monthly goal.
Thanks Nerida.

Wonderland sleigh ride ...stamp a stack?

The wonderland stamp set is just perfect for those Scandinavian style Christmas cards.
I've tried this style of card in two different colour schemes both with gold embellishment.
This one is on a base of Lost Lagoon cardstock and the front panel is Soft sky.
Love the sentiment?
It's from Flurry of Wishes, so simple and fits every occasion card at Christmas!
My second card is probably my favourite in Night Of Navy and Soft sky.
Washi tape is still very trendy so I've stuck a piece down the bottom with some gold cording tied around in a bow.
This gorgeous thinlit die is one in a pack of three. Trees, houses and a one horse sleigh. Hence the name Sleigh ride.
Would you like to make a stack of Christmas cards with me?
In the Colour of your choice ...

Remarkable You

Remember last week I said I was ordering a new stampset?
It arrived yesterday and its already seen ink.
Magnolias are everywhere when you walk or drive around here in the beginning of Spring.
I absolutely love the deep pinky purple colours they display.
And so now I can have them all year round on cards, and you can too.
I've added some half pearls as "dew" drops and Mint macaron lace ribbon because it adds a level of sophistication when only pearls and lace will do.
This card sketch was inspired by a challenge on our stampin up team forum, The Inksomniacs.
Watch this space because this stampset is so beautifully easy to watercolour and very versatile too.
You can order this stamp set through my online Stampin up! Shop.

Everyone who purchases through my online store this month

Stamping on Embossing folders

Today's card is a new technique that I have discovered and is directly inspired by AnnCraig
http://anncraig.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/
woodland-cars-embossing-folder-male-card.html
You will need the Woodlands embossing folder and the Big
shot machine plus ink pads for this technique.
First step is to open up to the inside of your embossing folder
with the crease at the bottom.
2. The next thing is to swipe the lighter coloured ink pads
across the plastic. Only on the negative parts (between the
tree branches) and leave a little bit of plastic clear.
3. Stamp the fir trees near the base of the folder in the darker
colour.
4. Place a piece of white cardstock face down onto the ink
(you can sort of see what it will look like, if you turn it over).
Now roll It through the Bigshot as normal using tab 1.
Ta da thats it! The ink accentuates the lines on the trees
in the foreground.
I just love this folder. Embellished here with Flurry of Wishes stamps.
These are three of my favourite colours: Soft sky, Wisteria
Wonder and Blackberry Bliss.
And silver is just perfect with them!
Lastly, here is another sample using Mint Macaron, Crumb
Cake and Early Espresso ink pads.
I've edited this post to add a few hints to stamping on embossing folders:
* light colours work best for the sky and clouds with white space
* you can be really messy with the background swiping of ink.
* the main image stamp stamps best in a dark, wet ink
* run the embossing folder through twice if the image isn't clear
* every single one looks different, like a unique painting
* if your image is still unclear touch it up with an aquapainter pen
You can order the Woodland embossing folder for $15 through my online
Shop. When you select a demo make sure you choose Nerida in NSW.
Note: If you spend over $50 this month I'll post you a gift in the mail.

Remarkable you ... On the weekly deals

This week's deals feature sequins, mini pegs, framelits and a fabulous stampset called "Remarkable you" which has been on my wish list since the start of the catalogue. now its 25% off and i am so excited!
also on the weekly deals is the gorgeous "Lucky stars" Embossing Folder - Which is an essential item for card making especially  on christmas cards, male and boy cards. I just love my embossing folder collection. This Week's Deals from Stampin' Up! are a great way to build your craft supplies at a discount.
You can purchase these products by emailing nerida_carter@hotmail.com or message me and I'll place your order. But remember they are only available for one week until Tues 29, September.
On Friday, I visited my fellow crafter, Wanda and we made two cards for Christmas. The first uses the lovely brickwork embossing folder and the window from hearth and home thinlit die from the holiday catalogue.
Our Second card was very simple using real red cardstock and a slash of whisper white card.
The stamp is from "Peaceful Wreath" page 21 of the Holiday catalogue.
The holly sprig is stamped with Basic grey archival ink and water coloured with Mossy Meadow and Real Red classic ink. I think the 5 silver sequins sets it off perfectly.

Silver glimmer and gently falling

This card was totally inspired by the weekly deals from Stampin' up!
When the glimmer paper is on sale I buy it. I just love the glimmer paper on anything.
Christmas is obvious,  because it makes even the simplest card special.
Embossed back grounds are my simplest and absolute favourite way to dress up and embrace the white space of a card. How perfect is the "Simply Falling" embossing folder?
And to top it off there's silver cord to tie the card together and a punched silver star.

Bendi card fold

This is an old style but newly discovered card fold.
I was inspired by searching bendi cards and a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.
I am not sure about you, but I often find following tutorials with measurements difficult, so usually I end up rewriting them for my own use later. Adjusting measurements and simplifying steps as I go.
So this one is as much for me, as it is for you!
Step 1.
You will need a piece of cardstock in your favourite colour ( this one is mint Macaron).
Start with a piece 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and Cut this into three pieces, so you have:
5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
5 1/2" x 2 1/2"
5 1/2" x 1 3/4"
Step 2. Score the two smaller pieces at 1/2" from one end. (This will be the tab that wraps around the back of the card.)
Step 3. Score the other end of these pieces at 1/4".
Step 4. Cut a small tab from the 1/4" side, on the two smaller pieces.
Step 5. is to measure 4" on the large back piece and draw two dots either side where your tab will insert.
Step 6. And using your blade make a cut / slot the size of your tab.
Step 7. Next take the larger of the flaps and measure 2" .
Place 2 dots where the smallest tab will insert and cut with your blade to make a slot.
That's how they look ! We are almost ready to glue and construct the card.
Step 8. Cut a gentle curve in the two small flaps.
Step 9. Add some strong "tear and tape" adhesive on the scored tabs ( I think the tape should have gone on the other side). But you get the idea.
Step 10. Construct and decorate your card.
The tape adheres to the back of the large piece and the tabs slot into the slits (as above).
This part is the creative bit where we begin to decorate with die cuts, patterned paper, vellum and stamping.
I love this brand new wreath stamp it looks lovely stamped or water coloured to make the holly leaves and berries pop in green and red.
The products I've used are all exclusive to stampin' Up!
Stampset: Peaceful wreath (Seasonal catalogue 1 Sept 2015).
Printed velum: Winter wonderland designer stack
FramelitsWonderful wreath Framelit dies, Sleigh ride edgelits
Aqua painter, Mossy Meadow and Real Red ink pads.
The snow can also be made to sparkle with a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter!
