Oval card fold

It may be wet and grey outside but there is always something happening on my craft table. Most days  anyway! Wisteria wonder and elegant eggplant cardstock form the base of my card.

This one is a fancy fold using the ovals Framelits and my big shot machine.
I am using some squares of the soon to be retiring "Fan fair" designer series paper. Pretty French lace and French script patterns to punch out and layer on a postage stamp punch. Ooh la la!
Our current catalogue retires at the end of this month. Give me a call or email your order to me this weekend at nerida_carter@hotmail.com or place an online order using the link button on my sidebar.

Epic day journaling

I have finally found a journal style I can relate to!
Each page is already patterned with gorgeous designer series paper and ready to go -
Stick in a few photos, a sticker or two, maybe a flag of patterned paper and some words to describe the day and I am done!
Almost forgot ... date stamp the page and NOW I am done...onto the next page!
I love the stickers in the Epic day sticker kit. The top ten list is a good one to start a page idea with.
One of our favourite things to do on a Sunday afternoon is cook. It usually involves chocolate, biscuits, and icing. These journal pages are just big enough for a cut down photo and some journalling stickers have just enough space on them to print up a short recipe.
The ingredients are written on a post it note and secured with more arrow stickers from the Epic day kit.
Check ou the gorgeous pockets and envelopes that come with your journal!!!

Just thinking about Papillon Potpourri

Just thinking is one of the the single stamps in the Seasonal Catalogue which just happens to come to an end on 30 June. It is designed to be used with the Window framelits but as I have done here you can just ink up the words and use them as a feature by themselves.
I love using this naturals white paper ( it comes in a pack of 40 sheets). It is thicker and a little rougher than whisper white which lends more to the home made feel of this card.
It is a little girly I guess with the butterflies and the delicate lace embossed edge.
Only two weeks left to buy stamps and accessories from the retiring 2013 annual and seasonal catalogues, so give me a call, order through the Stampin' up! online store or email me nerida_carter@hotmail.com to get your goodies before they go!

Fabulous Fan Fare

These two cards have a very feminine feel about them.
Lots of lacy images and edges on a lacy brocade embossing folder with fluttering butterflies.
My new 2.5cm square punch is perfect for making mosaic artworks from Patterned papers. I have dearly loved the Fan Fair suite in the Annual catalogue this year with the scrapbook page size Eiffel Tower, french script, European map, vintage lace patterns, vintage keys, ruler and pretty fans.
There is never enough time to use up all my favourite pieces of patterned paper, but this design gives me a chance to feature a small square of several patterns on one card.
Here's the second one with a mosaic of similar inch squares stuck down in a grid pattern.
Card Recipe:
Ink: Wisteria Wonder
Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Concord Crush ( but would look just as good on Elegant Eggplant).
Patterned PAPER: Fan Fare Designer series paper (DSP)
Tools: 2.5 cm square punch, Elegant and Bitty butterfly punch, Modern Label punch and Pearls.
Big Shot: Lacy brocade embossing folder, Large scallop Edgelit and Delicate Designs embossing folder.

Pretty Postage Flowers

We have had a big week here, starting with Jess performing in the Eisteddford Piano concert on Sunday and Queen's Birthday long weekend.
Lots of new things arriving in cardboard boxes to play with.
Which leads to lots of cardmaking, crafting and journal creating.
I have a stack of retiring cardstock and stamps to go through and put up for sale.
As I do, I can't help but make a card with the bits I am sorting and combining them with new things that I have on my table.
This is one of those a little bit old and a few things new kind of cards.
Today's card is full of texture in two shades of purple... with white and orange.
The new-ish products are the two scalloped circle punches.
I have featured the flowers on the Postage Paid background stamp and hi-lighted them with some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details for some glitter and shine.
The Wisteria wonder ink and cardstock is continuing into the next catalogue and the Concord Crush,
well that's left over from last year, but I happen to have a half used pack in my stash and haven't let go of it yet.
Big shot tools: Window Frames Collection Framelit dies
Embossing folders: houndstooth and honeycomb.
First Edition patterned specialty paper is going!

Blooming with Kindness and scallop flower mini tutorial.

It's winter so break out the flowers and layer it up with lace and ribbon. The sun will come out soon enough. I've come up with a cute way to make this little flower.
Cut two scalloped circles of Cardstock using the 7/8" and 1 1/4" scallop circle punches.
Or, for a single layer just cut one.
With your sharp snip scissors - Cut from the outside almost into the centre to create petals.
You can cut between every scallop or every second scallop.
Lastly you layer the two flowers together one on top of the other.
Make a hole in the centre with a paper piercing tool and pin it with a decorative brad. Like I have on the next card shown here.
Card recipe:
Stamp set: Blooming with Kindness.
Sweet Essentials.
Tools: scallop circle punch 7/8"
Big shot machine, large scallop edgelits, Delicate design embossing folder.
Wisteria wonder ribbon. And decorative brad.

French folliage falling leaves

It may be winter but the leaves are still clinging to the trees in orange, red and yellow that I see on my walk to school in the morning. The products in the current Stampin' Up! catalogue are still clinging on until  the end of June too. That is until they fall off the tree or go out of stock.
If you want to browse the products that are retiring this month just click on the shop now button at the top right of my blog page and you can see the pictures of products for sale.
When you shop make sure you choose Nerida Carter as your demonstrator to get your preferred customer savings.
Thought I'd make a few cards with one of my all time favourite stampsets: French Folliage.
A friend of mine loves purple and it seems red also, I made these up for her this week and she loved them.
I just love the way you can "rock and roll" these leaf stamps in the autumn/wintery colours and they look so crisp and colourful.
I have used another retiring stamp "curly cute" for my sentiment.
These are two great sets I will miss however, as you know when one catalogue closes another new one opens... Let me know if you would like to be one of the first to own a copy of the 2013-14 Annual catalogue that goes live on 2 July this year!

Primrose Petals in the secret garden... PPA160 colour challenge

I joined Pals Paper Arts PPA160 Colour challenge this week and the colours are:
Gumball Green, Primrose Petals and Whisper White.
I stamped a posie of Secret Garden flowers and watercoloured the petals for a bit of pretty!
Then to add something special I painted parts of the flower with champagne shimmer paint.
In the light it is all gold and shimmery... painted direct from the shimmer paint bottle with an aquapainter.
I stamped the largest flower first then masked it with paper while I stamped the smaller white flower over it.
The masking looks as if the white flower is behind.
Finally I stamped the centre flower and cut it out with the matching framelits.
I do like the champagne shimmer (retiring end of June and I bet its already out of stock).
If there is something you are wanting from the 2012-13 retiring products list you can click on my online store (up on the right hand side of this blog)
Make sure that you select me as your demonstrator, to get your discounted prices, I am the only Nerida in NSW.
It means you can shop 24/7 (at 3am if you wish) and the products will be delivered direct to your door.  Any problems call my mobile 0468 877 125.  Enjoy!!!

Tea for two and the Summer Solstice

Saying goodbye is always difficult ... The Summer Solstice butterflies have been a favourite of mine.
I have featured the Tea ForTwo patterned paper in strips on my card before running the whole card front through the honeycomb embossing folder. The tea for two papers will also be going at the end of this catalogue on 30 June. But this pattern will be recoloured in wisteria wonder and coastal cabana.
I stamped my butterflies in Early Espresso ink on the patterned Tea for Two paper then cut them out.
Placing them on dimensionals to raise them up above the textured background.
If you are wanting to purchase any of these products (retiring or current) you can email me at nerida_carter@hotmail.com or order online at: http://www.facebook.com/l/bAQH1W1MW/www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4002091
Summer Solstice clear mounted $24.95 page 93. Item number 122037.
Enjoy!!!

Idea display boards - random projects

One of the best things about Convention is being able to browse the project boards.
After each general session the projects demonstrated are then put out on display so we can get a closer look in real life. Shelli had a whole board and table for her items. She scrapbooked her new hobby that she shares with Sterling... horse riding.
This clean and square scrapbook page caught my eye. The splatters in the background are a new stampset. I think I can make this with the new stampsets we received in our convention bag.
Here is another very simple but gorgeous Shelli card. Thank you cards look so elegant like this.
A more elaborate gold embossed card that I just love... going to case (copy and share) this layout.
Now the one above is a box calendar/ Diary. Bonnie Thurber showed how she made this one. There is a card for every day of the year...
Loving the Post card stamp ... washi tape and date stamp!
A baby card so smple yet cute with the doily and chevrons.
How cute is this bag? Made with Designer series paper, acetate and washi tape to bind the edges and the handles. The flowers are scrunched, squashi washi tape... (I think someone made that one up).
Then next is another one of Shelli's simple but elegant cards using washi tape stamps and a button with a natural feather for texture and dimension.
How exciting ... this was one of my swaps this year with a duck feather, delicate doily and ribbon attached. I thought a button would have been too much, but maybe not.
A close up of my card with duck feather !!!!!

Making my convention Make and takes.

On a rainy Sunday in June what better thing to do but makeup my projects from convention.
There are quite a few sneak peek products in here so look away if you don't want to know what's in the new caty. Like new in colours and stamp images. Here's what I made.
A gift box using new stamps, and acetate ... So quick to fold and put together with no adhesive needed.
Chevron printed paper gift bags and beautiful Bermuda Bay taffeta ribbon.
These two are made with a new stamp set that will support Ronald McDonald house charities.
I like this get well soon stamp in these bright colours.
A close up of the trendy chevron paper bags.
Here they are all clustered together - a productive couple of hours. Would you like to come and see them close up and try out some new tools and product at my annual catalogue launch on 5 July at 7 pm in Narara? You can choose a gift if you bring a friend that I haven't met before.
