Circle circus and the Flight of the butterfly in Perfect plum and Rose red.

I have been looking at the card on page 83 of the idea book for over a month now ... saying I will try that design out soon... well, yesterday while procrastinating about cleaning the house, once again - I deciced to make the card before I started the cleaning.
I used the butterfly stamp from Flight of a butterfly on page 82.
I changed the colours to suit my mood - Perfect plum, rose red and Kiwi kiss with whisper white.

Besides I haven't used any purple for weeks.
I combined it with circle circus stampset for background interest and because the medallion fits the scallop circle punch. And used the eyelet border punch instead of the scallop border.

There you go .. it says: hope your day is as happy as happy gets!

Materials:
Stampset: Flight of the butterfly, Circle Circus.
Cardstock: Perfect plum, rose red, kiwi kiss, whisper white. Ink: perfect plum, rose red. Punches: Scallop Circle, 1.3cm circle, eyelet border.
Ribbon: kiwi kiss, Adhesives: Dimensionals, double sided tape.

Circle Circus

This is my latest male card - It is blue and green and has medallions and circles:
There's crimping and a build a brad...
I 'd give it to a bloke - would you?

Glittering green and brilliant blue on sticky shapes.

What do you think?
This is a case of one of Linda H's cards, see my side bar for a link to her blog. Her card was in chocolate and close to cocoa with an orange bling flower.
My friend Sophie, helped me choose the colours, I was a little worried about the colours being over the top ... but once we agreed on the black, I took a deep breath and plunged in with the colour scheme.I have tilted the card up and tilted the card down so you can get a glimpse of that bling flower.
The colours are Rose Red, Kiwi kiss, tangerine tango, and Pacific point for the ribbon and the strip of scallopped paper, with black cardstock behind the sticky shape flower and superfine glitter. In real life the flower is so shiny, tht blue is mesmerising.
And the inside of the card stamped by my assistant ... says in soft rose red -

Live, Laugh and Love!!! that's the Story of life isn,t it?

It's a girl - emboss resist inspired by nature.

Today's card is in pink pirouette because Production run - baby number 6 is a girl ... I haven't seen her yet, no I lie, I have seen her photo - so gorgous, so new, so perfect and with dark hair.

I have kept this card very white and light in tone ... I was tempted to put a cocoa or black layer in there to contrast, but remembered it is a baby girl - she is supposed to be light and white and pure...

I think I am done with this combination ... but then there are more pregnant bellies out there...

Upsy daisy with super fine glitter on a sticky strip

Ok I have been blinged severely, the glitter is the superfine pink dust on sticky strip at the top of the card and Two way glue pen dotted onto the flowers from the upsy daisy stampset.
I have glitter on my jeans, table, floor, fingers and face...
Materials used:
Cardstock: Pink pirouette and whisper white.
Ink: pink pirouette, regal rose and rose red.
Stampsets: Upsy daisy!

Ribbon: Regal rose grosgrain.
Punches: Large Oval, even larger oval !!!
Adhesives: Sticky strip, dimensionals, two way glue pen and double sided tape.
Sponge dauber and ink pad for the edges.

Little Bundle of Joy - Baby card

It's a boy!!!
I am enjoying making baby cards at the moment ... a few of my friends are doing the 2nd, 5th or 6th baby production run at the moment. I was done after one, I am so glad other mothers can have babies for me to cuddle and welcome to the world ... I am loving this baja blue colour with Pacific point for boy cards ....
I would have no excuse to normally, indulge in backgronds that say - Adore, love, family, Together, cherish, hope, heartfelt... but for little babies.
This technique is called embossing resist - You stamp the background stamp on white cardstock.
You stamp a large stamp such as the grass from "Inspired by Nature" in VersaMark ink, sprinkle it with clear embossing powder, heat it ... then sponge the baja blue ink over the image.
The embossed image resists the ink and shows white, with the darker background stamp beneath. Just love the textured look and feel of this technique.
the little bundle of joy stamp is embossed in clear on white cardstock too. Then sponged to reveal the image ... A piece of Pacific point ribbon and its done. Now for the pink one ....

Double sided paper - Urban garden Pencil tin.

Reduce, reuse, Re-cycle!
Once an aluminium Peaches container, now an urban garden pencil tin.
I made a card and had half a sheet or more of patterned paper left, it could have made a scrapbook page but there was this empty tin of peaches needing to go out to the recycling bin and somehow its silvery aluminium sparkle caught my eye and now I have another decorated pencil tin for our table. My daughter and I have a lot of pens and pencils, scissors and brushes ...
I added the kiwi kiss and vanilla silk ribbon and a large oval tag with words from the "inspired by nature" stampset, with a small piece of twine to attach it and a rhinestone brad through the hole for a little lift.
Supplies used:
DS paper: Urban garden, Cardstock: Kiwi kiss, Ink: Not quite navy, Ribbon: kiwi kiss and vanilla silk. Twine, rhinestone brad. Hole punched with the crop-o-dile, sticky strip used to attach paper to tin ... that's it really and a matching card that definitely needs a rhinestone.

Kiwi kiss in urban garden

It was grey and raining, daughter asleep on floor, I make a card at the dining room table so I can be beside her when she wakes.
I cut the flower out from a piece of Urban garden Designer Series paper. There is no stamping but for the sentiment: Birthday Celebrations....I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to get the words straight because there is nothing so frustrating as a crooked word stamp.I was pleased how this fairly simple card came together and so I have also made a Pencil tin too.
Supplies used:
Cardstock: Kiwi kiss, Not quite navy, Baja Breeze. DS Paper: Urban garden. Stamp set: Upsy Daisy (Birthday celebrations) Ribbon: Kiwi kiss and vanilla silk, Double sided tape and 2 way glue pen.

Is there something missing? I wanted to add a brad or a rhinestone or something but not sure where - Any thoughts?

Pixie pink resist, Inspired by Nature, Tres Chic!

Here is a new technique we learnt at Convention. It uses a combination of background stamping, clear embossing resist and sponging (or brayering).
Jess' teacher has just had a baby and dropped in to show off her new baby girl, so Jess said she wanted to make and send her a card.
Here is a closer look at how the background is stamped. Can you see the clear embossing over the background stamp. I simply sponged around the images to make the embossing stand out.
The bundle of Joy was also clear embossed on whisper white, then sponged to make the background match the card.
I attached the ribbon with some small pink eyelets and used double sided tape to stick it to the velum and the velum to the card.
I have stamped a matching envelope in pixie pink classic ink.

Materials:

Stampset: Inspired by Nature, Tres Chic background, 3 punches -Bundle of joy (level 1 hostess set)

Cardstock: whisper white. velum.

Ink: Pixie pink, VersaMark.

Accessories: gingham ribbon, small pink eyelets, clear embossing powder, sponge dauber, heat gun.

Fold out Scrapbook page - Circle circus

THIS is the third convention project we made during the make and take session at convention (I completed it at home as we ran out of time) ... When it is closed the package looks like this: with an aluminium edged circle hanging from the baja breeze ribbon ... Opened out it is a full 12x12 scrapbook page.
Each quadrant is decorated with stamped backgrounds and double sided paper, circle circus stamps layered onto aluminium edged tags and flowers punched out and attached with silver brads ... I added a few extra pieces to accent my photos...
I felt that it was missing some words ... so, after I took these photos I went back and added some ovals with the words "family, together, memories and laugh" from the Tres chic background stamp. You will have to see it in real life for them... I am recharging my camera batteries.
